From a young age, I’ve been captivated by how a single photograph can preserve a moment and evoke a flood of memories. It’s that quiet magic—the way an image can bring the past to life—that continues to inspire me.
I felt it most profoundly during a weekend in Vermont, celebrating my uncle’s final birthday as he faced cancer. We wore tie-dye shirts, gathered by the lake, and held each other close in the late summer light. I carried my film camera everywhere, documenting every fleeting, tender moment, and gifted him my first darkroom print.
That weekend taught me what photographs could truly hold: joy, grief, love, and legacy. It’s this same reverence I bring to the stories I’m trusted to tell—capturing the moments that become memory, and the images that will one day mean everything.
